Five types of Books that You Can Create and Get Printed Online

5 Types of Books You Can Create OnlineVery few technologies have made such a great impact on our lives like Internet. What started as a simple communication tool has now taken over our lives, changing the way we used to study, work, or socialize with our friends and family members. But the best part is how it has facilitated both businesses and consumers by offering a plethora of cost effective opportunities, regardless of the product or services that you are looking to buy or sell.

Not many years ago, getting your book published used to be an extraordinary achievement, mainly because reaching out to a publisher and getting it printed was an extremely difficult, expensive, and time consuming process. Many good authors never managed to publish their work, let alone the commoners. Fast forward to the age of Internet, and now you have got websites like amazon allowing you to create, design, and publish your own book in next to no time. Not only that, but you can get it in printed form at reasonable rates.

Following are five types of books that you can create and print online without going through the hassle.

A book that you’ve authored:

As I’ve just mentioned, getting your books printed used to be an impossible feat for authors and writers in the past. Many authors didn’t get a chance to have their work published in the form of a book, because of all those constraints. But there’s nothing that should be stopping you from having your book published in this time and age. You can simply choose one of those online self-publishing services like blurb.com or amazon.com (yes, you can get your book printed in real via createspace at amazon) and become an author of a real book. Can it get easier than that?

Magazine:

A magazine is pretty much like a blog in the offline world. Just like a blog, a magazine will target a particular niche and share all sorts of information, articles, tips, and news on that particular niche. They are printed and distributed to subscribers on regular basis, allowing the people who are keen to follow a certain industry or field to stay in the know of things. Getting a magazine out in print form used to be a hell of a job that required lots of hard work. But now, some of these online services will let you design and print your magazine without much ado, while cutting down the expenses and required resources, and making the entire process a lot more easier and inexpensive.

Photo Books:

When it comes to remembering special events like wedding or birthday parties, people tend to cherish their photo albums a lot more than the video recording, mainly because photographs can focus on, and capture the joy and the excitement in its purest form, while sidelining the useless stuff. Each of those pictures and photographs have a story to tell, and it’s no wonder that people love to preserve these photographs in the form of albums with plastic sheets and binding.

While digital cameras and smart phones let us take good quality pictures, we are still not able to get these photographs in the form of a photo album without paying sufficient amount to local studios. But that’s not a problem anymore; there are many online services that will let you create an amazing photo book in next to no time.

Portfolio Book:

A portfolio book can work wonders if you are a professional photographer, home improvement contractor, interior designer, or any other type of professional who needs to keep a portfolio in the form of hard copies, to share with their clients. Again, you can get it done quite easily while using one of those online publishing and printing services. All you will need are some photographs of your best work, and these portals will do the rest by providing you with different, easy to use tools to design and get your portfolio book printed.

Blog Book:

There are many people who started off as bloggers and went on to become highly accredited authors. It feels great to have a blog with lots of readers and subscribers, but getting some of your most popular blog entries, images, and even comments in the form of a book can be an entirely different experience. Even if you don’t plan to market and sell it like regular books, you can still keep it in your own collection, or send it as a gift to your closed ones or maybe your most dedicated followers or commentators. Self-publishing websites will let you import the desired blog entries and let you create a book with professional layouts quite effortlessly.

  • You know it’s funny.

We spend all our time going to school to get a job to get promoted to retire only to hopefully write a book.

It’s interesting how the highest level of accomplishment is being a published teacher or business person.

Maybe young people should rethink the “big plan”

  • I thinks its great that who ever has the time for it could now publish their own book, for free or online. Time’s always been a big issue for me, but a little writing a day accumulates and before long… a book! At least that’s the way I see it for now. I’ll look into the publishers you suggested, thanks.

  • It’s awesome that in this day and age, technology has leveled the playing field somewhat so that anyone who has the ambition and just enough requisite talent can be a ‘published author’. Hopefully the ease at which one can publish one’s work will not trigger an increase of less quality books and other mediocre literary works.

My thoughts exactly James. For the sake of profit, people can be tempted to publish even lower than mediocre works.

I am grateful for the fact that we can publish so easy and feel accomplished in our goals and writing. However, when it is so easy, there will always be low quality stuff that gets through as well.

That’s where reviews come in. A bad book will receive a ton of bad reviews, and people take reviews quite seriously, which means that book will make its way to the bottom of the pile. It all balances itself out.
