We’re well into the swing of the new year now. I hope that you had a great holiday season and new year! I had a great time celebrating with family and friends.
There are going to be a few changes here at Grow With Stacy that I want to make you aware of so you know what to expect this year!
Why the changes?
As you’re probably aware, I’m busy writing novels and I’ve been posting less frequently because of that. On top of writing, I’m also now reviewing books which is also time consuming. I also run a business 50+ hours a week and educate my kids from home. I have a lot going on!
I want to continue with this blog – but in order to do so I need to make some changes. I used to post three times a week and then less often since I started with my novels.
I don’t want to post for the sake of posting. I want to post when I have something to say. I would rather have one meaningful or epic post a month rather than fifteen lame posts a month for the sake of consistency or SEO. Not that I’ve ever been overly concerned about SEO.
What can you expect?
You can expect to read a post from me anywhere from one to three times a month. Feel free to join my email list if you haven’t already, I will probably start updating the list when I have new posts for you to read. You can also subscribe to email updates or subscribe to RSS updates.
I am accepting guest posts.
You can read about my guest posting guidelines and decide if you’d like to guest post here. I get a lot of guest post requests and I’m getting a little more picky about accepting posts. I will accept guest posts from other bloggers if you want a link back to your site. I’m not going to link to a dentist office, design studio, or any other sales type site.

Hi Stacy,
I stopped accepting guest posts altogether on my blog except for the one’s that I personally request from a blogger. Inevitably someone still pitches me for a guest post on my blog and they request 2 do follow backlinks to a Corporate website or something else that is not a personal blog site.
Good luck with your novels and all the other things on your plate too.

I know you’ve been getting very busy writing Stacy and I know that’s your passion. I can understand not really wanting to let this blog go so I think you’ve made the right choice.

It all sounds great Stacy! As an author myself I can certainly appreciate the challenges you face trying to balance it all – especially with homeschooling your children. My sister homeschooled her kids and I was amazed with all the work involved, and so very proud of her. Like Justin, I rarely consider accepting guest posts for my blog, although I was talked into serving as a feature contributor on another personal development blog. Plus my writing has gone in a new direction with my latest book, so I guess this is already shaping up to be the year of change and growth. How exciting!

Agreed; since the Panda and Penguin updates last year guest blogging really went crazy. We also get far more dodgy requests to posts than genuine and acceptable ones.
I would be keen to do a post for your site on video marketing though Stacy if you would be open to it?

Guest posting really is a big help most especially to sites who want to earn good reputation and you really have a very interesting way of grabbing the attention of the people like me.

Multi-tasking is not one of my fortes. Since I embarked on doing the tutoring of my two kids myself, I have left behind my blogging for quite a time, only posting when I really have something to say, and sometimes posting just to keep the blog alive. This year, I’m trying to resurrect my blog and see what comes out of it.
