I have found Pinterest to be a very helpful tool to improve my writing. Even though it seems counter-intuitive because it’s all about visual images.
One way that I’m using Pinterest to improve my writing is I created a pin board called Writing. On that board I have a collection of images that link to some of the most helpful writing links that I have found.
On that board, you’ll find links to:
How to Be a Writer: 201 Compelling Tips
Why The Hunger Games is the Future of Writing
17 School Writing Rules You Need to Unlearn in the Real World
From Idea to Publication in 29 Days

…plus many more! If you’d like to see what other gems that I’ve got go take a look. If you’re on Pinterest feel free to follow that board so that you can see more useful posts that I will be sharing!
Another way to use Pinterest to improve your writing
You will find a lot of pins floating around Pinterest that have inspirational quotes about writing and even writing tips:

Have you ever used Pinterest to improve your writing? What are your tips? Or if you’ve never used Pinterest for your writing, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
To Your Success,

I have started using Pinterest to sort pictures into categories, with some being related to my books. I find images that inspire me or that remind me of one of my characters, and I add them to my boards. In this way, I can look back at those images and be better able to describe the clothes, characters, scenes, and other important items.

I’ve never thought of Pinterest as a tool to improve writing. But that’s maybe I’m using it for a different purpose? Now that you mentioned it, I’d say yes it could. Not make your writing better per se but all the pictures and quotes you see there could inspire you to be better.

Pinterest also now allows visitors to a board to suggest a category if the board doesn’t have one. It’s a great way to help the board creator optimize their boards, so be sure to recommend a category if you are asked.
Cheers!

Hi Erda,
Optimizing the boards is really important if you want to attract followers! I’ve gone through and optimized my boards and now I get all kinds of repins and likes from total strangers. I get new followers daily, too!
Thanks for sharing, it’s good to help others who don’t understand the whole optimization process.
Thanks for stopping by,
Stacy

Great writing board Stacy (I’ve followed you) and I love, love, LOVE Pinterest! As an artist and visual person by nature for me Pinterest is like a kid in a candy store. I haven’t used it to improve my writing, although now I’ll be keeping an eye out for opportunities. I do use it to promote my books and – based on some of the email I get – welcomed more than a few new subscribers to my blog. Thanks for the inspiration!

I’m not a big user of Pinterest Stacy but I use Evernote for this type of thing. Usually for headlines, I have a swipe file that I revert to all the time but I think I have them in my Pinterest account as well. Thought others might find them helpful too.
Great share.
