Congratulations! We’ve made it to the very last day of the challenge! If you have been consistent with your habit-in-making this month you should have a full fledged habit now!
Do you feel that you have built a habit? Are you able to accomplish your habit daily without much thought or effort? That is after all what makes it a habit!
I have found that I now have the habit of daily meditation. I don’t even have to force myself to think about it daily I just go to do it each day. I had originally wanted to meditate in the mornings but found that evenings work better for me so that’s the habit.
Perhaps another month I will work on meditating in the mornings or adding a morning session to my routine. But for now I’m happy with evening meditation time and I think that is a perfect example of how we sometimes need to tweak our habits to make them work.
That also brings me to the topic of today’s post…
What is next?
Do you have a plan for your habit beyond today?
If you feel that it’s not quite yet a habit will you keep working on it until it is?
If it is already a habit will you tweak it in anyway or will you happily keep going as it is?
Will you add a new element to your habit to bring it to an entirely new level?
Do you have a new habit that you want to build next month?
I encourage you to have a plan for continual growth whether you are going to work another habit or working on your own personal growth. Without continued personal growth you won’t be able to go the places that you desire.
What to look forward to here…
Next month I will return to posting about all things related to personal growth, entrepreneurship, and blogging.
- Tomorrow you can look forward to what could possibly be a controversial post about attraction marketing! I know that sounds like an oxymoron, so be sure to stop by and share your thoughts on it!
- Each Tuesday and Thursday I will feature an interview that I conducted with some top bloggers! This is going to be a great series and I’m really looking forward to publishing each and every one in February.
- I’ve got some great guest posts lined up.
- I will also be posting more frequently than the 2-3 posts I had been publishing last year. This challenge has accidentally given me the habit of posting more frequently!
To Your Success,

Yes, I have built one habit and broken one bad habit. One good habit I have built is going for a morning walk everyday even if it is for 20 minutes. One bad habit that I have got rid of is eating between meals. I wish to continue doing these both.

Good for you! If you keep up this routine all year think of where you’ll be at the end of the year!

I guess I maintained a good habit like meeting the deadlines after finding extra work. Now, I am trying to develop another habit, which is exercise. It is because I want to gain more flexibility and discipline too. Maybe I should plan on how will I improve m habits. Thanks for the useful tips.

Hi Astrid,
Planning out how to create a habit is important. Without a plan we’re basically hoping that something will happen instead of going after it!

Hey Stacy,
This is my first visit to your blog so I am going through your back posts to catch up a bit on the last 30 days. What a great idea to set the “Habit” of writing these posts on habits for 31 days. As the saying goes “first we create our habits and then our habits create us.” I’m with you 100% on this one and I’m continually refining and paying attention to my daily habits for maximum success. Thanks for these posts.

As of now, I am working to defeat my bad habit of procrastinating at work. So far, the results were good. But still there are times that I procrastinate, but not that bad enough to affect my work performance just like before. I’m looking forward to your posts regarding personal growth. For sure, there is something valuable I will learn from it.

There’s no doubt it is really hard. Although it is difficult, it is not impossible. I am really serious about getting rid of it.

For me I’m just going to continue to work of my habit. I feel as though I have made some improvements but recognise there are still areas for improvement. Also this habit building lark has me thinking about a whole host of things I want to do differently but haven’t had to motivation to start. Looks like I’ve have a number of challenges to work on over the next few months to a year. That’s sure going to keep me busy!

Mena,
You and me both! I have so many habits that I want to build, I’m sure it will take all year and probably beyond!

I also just found your blog. I never though of doing this to develop a habit. I will try it with walking. I have slipped in my exercise and if I can just start a little at a time I should be able to build it up and after 30 days I should be able to keep it going. Since I am new to your blog what would you recommend I start reading?

Hi Eric,
You can read through the habit building series even though the challenge is over. Start at day one and go through the month as you build a habit. I had great success building my habit over the month of the habit building challenge!
