If you want quality backlinks to your blog then you want to comment on and be mentioned in DoFollow blogs in order to get the backlinks that show the search engines that your blog is popular.
Commenting on nofollow blogs can certainly be beneficial to you and your blog, but not for backlinks. You don’t want to ignore nofollow blogs, but it is certainly beneficial to know how to find the DoFollow blogs.
Recently my friend Ilka Flood let me know about a new way to find dofollow blogs!
The newest and most reliable way to find the DoFollow blogs is to go to the DoFollow Directory created by Christian Hollingsworth. You can learn more about the directory by reading Christian’s post explaining how it works and why it is superior to other similar lists.
If your blog is a DoFollow blog then you also will want to submit your blog for free! It’s a great way to gain extra exposure and some extra link juice!
To Your Success,

I agree with you Stacy, the nofollow blogs cannot be ignored, and i have a good reason for that, my friends fing it funny, but it works for me. i always comment at no follow blogs as the 80% spammers try to stay away from them, and it eventually help me in getting a like minded traffic. i make comments to start a discussion and a small friendship, it really helps in knowing others and you can invite them to your blog too..

Hi Stacy and thanks for the link. The directory is rather poor in blogs right now, but if it’s properly marketed it should grow quite fast. People just need to spread the word.

Fortunately we’ve had hundreds of submissions, but unfortunately, almost all are nofollow. I refuse to add if they aren’t quality or dofollow enabled. I’m working with many bloggers to help them “move” their blogs into the dofollow world.
It’s a long process. Thanks for your feedback. Really do appreciate it.

I added my blog to this directory and it does generate some traffic and some comments (the main reason for adding it). And I don’t have a prominent blog – so it really does work and it does help.

Stacy, you’re offering a very valuable resource here
I always love blog commenting as it creates the connections with real people on the Internet. You know, I’m doing this all on my own and I feel very lonely. Blog commenting eliminates that feeling for me. It lets me know that I’m not alone in this Internet maze!
Thanks again and I promise will put it the good use.
Have a nice day!

The problem with dofollow blogs is that the majority of bloggers revert back to nofollow before you know it – its just a strategy they use to gain comments.

You’re right about the need to use dofollow and nofollow links. So many people focus on getting dofollow links only, and this will look strange in the search engines’ eyes.

I finally understood what these directories are that everyone is talking about. Thanks for recommending them for dofollow blogs. I have read about link directories before, but they never gave a link to any of them, and when I Googled the term, the outcome was not precise enough to make me sure what these posts are referring to. But I had an epiphany while reading your post, and I can now re-read some of the articles and implement what they were suggesting. Thank you so much for enlightening me, even if that was not your initial intention.
