If you haven’t heard of Swagbucks you are really in for a treat! Swagbucks is a search engine (like Google) but it is not just any search engine. They literally pay you for searching with them!
Let me explain how it works.
You go to swagbucks, search for whatever it is that you typically search for and earn swagbucks which you can use to buy real things including books, starbucks, etc.
Learn how…
Join
First you sign up for an account here. If you use the link I’ll get some Swagbucks after you’ve been active and you’ll get 30 swagbucks for signing up. You will also get your own referral link and will receive swagbucks when others sign up with your link.
Search
When you search you will need to make sure that you are logged in whenever you search. If you use the same computer(s) most of the time then you don’t have to worry about logging in and out. They keep you logged in even if you turn the computer off (you may be aware of the major computer issues that I’ve been having and I haven’t been logged out of Swagbucks!) They also keep you logged into multiple computers at the same time too which is nice if you use several computers.
Earn
When you search on swagbucks you are randomly awarded swagbucks which are saved in your account – like a bank account. They add up until you are ready to spend them at the swagstore. I have found that they are generally given pretty frequently when you search on a regular basis.
There are also other ways to earn swagbucks: such as playing their games, watching videos, participating in the daily polls, finding swagcodes on their blog and their facebook page, using their toolbar, referring others, and even more. I’m still learning and they also add new ways regularly.
Buy Real Stuff
There are many things that you can purchase with your swagbucks, personally I always get Amazon gift codes which I add to my Amazon account. I have already bought three personal development and marketing books and I am extremely close to buying my fourth book!
You can also purchase gift cards from many others places such as Starbucks, restaurant.com, paypal, fandango, and much more.
One trick that I use is that instead of typing in the url of a page that I frequent I will instead go to swagbucks and type in the site’s name and click to the page from there. For instance, instead of typing ‘gmail.com’ I will just type ’gmail’ in the swagbucks search box and then I have a chance at winning swagbucks. I have won a lot of swagbucks that way!
I hope that you join Swagbucks, I know that it will pay off for you! I am so glad that I did, I love winning free books! What will you buy?
To Your Success,

Hi Stacy, I use to be part of a website that did this stuff! They had a combo of Google, Bing and Yahoo. You would get points and the points could get you a gift card or some other things.
I think this is a great idea for newer search engines to take some market share from the competitors such as the big three I just mentioned.

Hello Stacy,
Is there any metrics available as to the popularity of swag? Is there a benefit to a blog like yours, with its popularity to be indexed there? Does it crawl the web like Google?
Thanks,

Swagbucks uses google and some other search engines, but I don’t know the specifics. Maybe they have that information on their site?

It’s interesting that you posted this Stacy! I was an avid Swagbucks user months back and actually did earn a couple of Amazon cards that way but gave up on it because it was slow going. I had trouble using their browser instead of Google.
Perhaps I should give it another try!
