Triberr – A New Way to Participate in a Tribe

Blog, tribe, twitterIn case you have spent the last year on an African safari or living in the woods you know that tribes are the hottest way to gain readership and generate traffic right now! There are some amazing benefits of joining a tribe to be certain!

I have been joining different tribes and have found them effective, some more than others. One thing that I like about Triberr is that once you have it set up it’s automated so you don’t have to think about it once everything is in place.

What is Triberr?
Triberr is a tribe for bloggers which allows the tribe members to tweet each others blog posts automatically.

How does it work?
Once you have your twitter account and blog feed attached to your triberr account your tribe members will tweet your new posts and you will tweet theirs. It’s all automatic, you don’t need to do anything else once it’s set up.

What are the benefits?
One great benefit is the added reach, all of your tribe members followers will have access to your blog posts daily. It could literally reach tens of thousands or more!

Don’t forget about our friend Google, they now look at how often your content is shared on twitter so this will help you to rank higher with the search engines!

Another cool thing about Triberr is that there is no other service out there like it, it is unique! You could agree to tweet other people’s posts but this is guaranteed tweets!

How often are the tweets sent out?
As often as you publish posts, it is recommended that you take this into consideration when building your own tribes. You may want to pair people who post as similar frequencies in the same tribes. It might not make sense to have someone who posts 5 times a day with people who who post 3 times a week.

They are also tweeted 40 minutes apart between the tribal members so that the post does not go out at the same time, again helping with the wider reach of followers.

How many people are in a tribe?
In most cases there are 7 people in a tribe and you can be in 4 tribes. That’s 7 x 4 x followers = a really big reach!

In the tribes that you lead you have the option to purchase more spots on your tribe allowing for a great readership!

How do I start my own tribe?
When you join you are automatically in the tribe of the person who invited you and then you are given three tribes of your own. You simply invite people via their email address on the tribe member page!

How much does it cost?
With all of those benefits you are probably wondering about the cost, especially since it’s automated. It’s completely free!

How do I join?
You must be invited by a member, you cannot just go to the website and open an account. Someone who is already a member with tribe openings must consider you a valuable blogger in order for you to be invited to join.

You can feel free to leave a comment here to be considered for an invite to one of my tribes on triberr. I have over 2,500 followers on twitter myself, then the other tribe members have their followers too.

If you found this useful please share with your followers, retweet, vote, and comment! Thank you!

To Your Success,

Stacy

  • Stacy,
This was a fantastic breakdown of what Triberr is and how it works.

Would you mind if Dino and I used some of your verbiage for our FAQ page?

Stacy, one of the great benefits of blogging, and having relationships with other bloggers, is that you never stop learning. Although I’ve heard of tribes, I have never been a part of one, and I certainly didn’t know about Triberr until this post.

  • Hey Stacy. Im so happy you’re finding Triberr useful :-)

I never considered Google as one of the benefits but you are absolutely correct…with the new algorithm they have in place, social mentions matter.

Also, we have changed few of the innards since the writing of the FAQ. Sorry…but the development pace has been so breakneck I havent had the time to update, but clearly its needed.

So here are the small corrections.

We’ve changed the once a day rule. Instead we recommend you use a frequency of posting as one of the tribe building strategies.

Also…I dont now if the Triberr tweets are counted in your Twitter or Tweetmame buttons. If someone retweets it however, it will count in your mentions if you have those enabled…

We are aware of the importance of social proof of course and I want to make sure we squeeze all the juice out of this, so we are developing ways in which this can be accomplished.

Other than that, you gave a really great break down of what Triberr is about. Thank you for writing this post and thank you for actively building out your tribes. Its what a call a win-win-win :-)

  • I’d like to join – I am a RV full-timer and just a simple girl – not here to sell my soul. I do have an etsy store and I am small potatoes. Just trying to grow with the INET world. I guess I am looking for a hand to hold and guide me through…

  • I’ve been on the fence about joining. Good to hear you can be a part of four tribes – at the time people started sending me invites, you could only be a part of one.

I guess my biggest issue is the tweeting things automatically. I don’t really want to create my own group, as there are already plenty out there. But at the same time, what if there is one member in each of the groups whose stuff doesn’t align with my audience?

It’s something I’ll look into getting into eventually – definitely sounds like a great idea once I figure out those little things. :)

    Hi Kristi,
I understand where you are coming from on the automatic tweeting. That is one nice thing about being able to run our own tribes, we have full control over who we place in the tribes! At the same time it would be wise to choose someone who you respect when accepting an invite as well for the same reasons.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

    Dino Dogan Reply:

    Hey Kikolani :-)

The only question that drives Triberr development is how can this help bloggers. If a feature doesnt answer that question, it doesnt get implemented.

So when people got concerned about tweeting automagicly, we gave them the manual mode. See http://triberr.com/blog/manual-mode-is-here/

Also, I agree with Stacy. You want to join a tribe that fits. However, the true power of Triberr comes from you building your own tribes because you get to decide who gets in and who doesnt.

Dan and I want to hear from bloggers and if there is a concern thats not being addressed, we WILL address it. After all, we are bloggers too and we just want to help people get their voices heard.

  • Glad to see that you are also with Triberr. I’m loving it and am finding that the majority of the people I want to invite are already members of a tribe darn it! See, you included.

But like Dan said, you did a wonderful job of explaining what it is to everyone. Hope you get plenty of people interested in joining you.

I wish you the best of luck.

  • This is a fascinating concept, Stacy. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I had not even heard of the company yet.

I would love to join one of your tribes if it would be beneficial to all involved. I post once a day (5x/wk), M-F and generally keep my posts under 300 words.

My posts are philosophical/spiritual/motivational. I think my content would overlap with some of yours so if you have a tribe that does this kind of posting, I’d love to be considered.

    Thanks.

Hey Steve…thnx for calling Triberr a fascinating concept :-) That makes me very happy. Also, a small correction. triberr is not a company. Its two guys (both bloggers) named Dino (hi :-) and Dan who work their assess off to help smaller voices in the blogging community break through.

  • Hi Stacy,

Magnificent review and I concur with both Adrienne and Ilka that finding people who are not already members is proving a challenge.

One does want to choose people carefully based on niche, numbers following and post frequency so it’s not just a matter of running out and asking whoever to join you. Well that’s not what I am doing anyway.

I have over 13 000 followers so anybody joining me with less will reach a lot more people. Now I just need to find those with 20 000 plus followers who meet the criteria. LOL

Maybe I should write a review like yours?

  • Hi Stacy,

I’m a bit ambivalent in how I feel about the automated focus of services like Triberr because I prefer to manually tweet what I find interesting of use to those who choose to follow me.

I haven’t started any tribes of my own. The first one I ever joined has a great group of people, even a bit famous in the blogosphere (one of the members won the recent FamousBloggers contest :D ).

Being able to selectively choose which posts to retweet is a plus for me.

  • Stacy:

I forget to mention the most important advice I can offer about Triberr.

The best approach is not what can your invite tribe do for you. The best approach is what you can build together with those tribespeople in your first triberr tribe.

Triberr offers several things that dazzle and delight, but if you focus on building micro-communities, connecting with other bloggers (especially those that don’t share your particular niche or point of view), and curating people – you’ll do awesome.

Detach yourself from personal interest, smart goals, and ambitious outcomes, those items will be
served (beyond your imagination) if you demonstrate a servant heart.

I can definitely see the appeal of this since I find it difficult to find blogs in my genre. Mommy Blogger doesn’t really do it. ‘Sarcastic and Snarky Opinionator (my word) Trying To Stay One Step Ahead Of The Kids’ doesn’t yield very useful results though.

Admittedly, it was only a quick look, but I didn’t find the search drilled down far enough.
