I see a lot of bloggers who comment on blog posts who don’t have their picture show up next to their post. If that is the case for you and you would like to see your picture up I have good news, it is very easy and I am here to show you how to do it! It’s called a gravatar which means Globally Recognized Avatar. You can set yours up quickly enough to come back here and post and show it off!
Let’s get started shall we?
- First you choose a picture that you want to show up by your posts. You will want to put a little bit of thought into this as this picture will show up by all of your comments. Do you want a professional photo? Do you want a silly photo? Do you want a photo of you with your dog or kids? You may want to take some pictures of yourself if you don’t have one that you want to represent you by all of your comments. Or perhaps you will want to alter a photo in some way, make it black and white or add text.
- You may not want a photograph at all, if you are feeling camera shy you still have options to have something else as your gravatar. You can pick out a regular avatar to use or you can use a photo of your favorite pet or a sunset. If you have a badge for your blog then that definitely works! Have fun, be creative.
- Once you have your image picked out head over to gravatar.com. Once you are there it only takes a very short time to set up a free account. Then you upload the image and fill out the details (your website, email address) and you are set!
- Head back here and post your comment to try out your new gravatar!
That’s it! You probably didn’t expect it to be that easy did you?
Happy commenting!

Thank you! I was wondering how to do that, and it was on my list of things to figure out via searching the web. Now I can cross that off my to-do list! Thanks again

Hi Stacy,
This is such an important post when it comes to people who are building a network marketing internet business and branding themselves! Your photo is really your logo and should be the thing that everyone thinks of when they think of your business.
I recommend that everyone follows your instructions and brands themselves with a photo.
You laid it out so simply! Great job,
Heather

I like it when people have an easily recognizable icon next to their comments. It makes me feel like I start “knowing” the people I’m hanging out with in the blogs.

Hey Stacy
Gravatar is such a great free tool I do not know why anyone would not use it.
I am very unlikely to follow a comment back to someone’s blog if they do not have a picture.
If they do not take themselves seriously why should I.
Thanks Stacy, hopefully everyone who reads your post will now take the few minutes and setup up their gravatar.
